Procedures: An informational public meeting to share information and answer questions will begin at 6 pm and will be followed by a formal public hearing beginning at 7 pm. Oral and written comments will be accepted. Oral presentations may be limited to a fixed, reasonable amount of time.

A group of concerned citizens of Awendaw have joined together and formed Save Cape Romain! We are united in our opposition to the Bull Island Development of more than 340 homes on Bull Island Road . Bull Island Road is in between Cape Romain Maine National Wildlife Refuge and Francis Marion National Forest.

We believe that we can work to preserve Cape Romain

The developer has advanced the preliminary plans to the town. The plans are extremely controversial and many people claim the development is not in conformance with sound environmental practices and state rules.

Read the materials from concerned citizens, from our community leaders and environmental groups, and Please join our effort!

We are investing money in attorneys to fight the development through community outreach, voting drives and other methods.

Our strategic priorities are:

  • Protecting the refuge and wetlands
  • Reducing environmental impact
  • Encouraging greater transparency and outreach
